Erected at the end of the 18th century, on the foundations of a previous chapel in ruins, dating from the 17th century. Of colonial style, rectangular volume and sparse ornamentation, it was restored in the 1970s with the assistance of the modern architects Lúcio Costa and Carlos Leão. It is still used today for religious ceremonies, such as masses and the traditional Saint Anthony procession on the 13th of June.
